    Single Spring Mechanical Seal 177C — 1-3/8″ | PS-177 

    177c single spring mechanical seal, PS-177 / 177 equivalent. Fits 1-3/8″ shaft with 2.000″×0.437″ seat and Type N-11 (Type C/21) rotary head

    Typical applications: Centrifugal pumps, mixers, and other rotating equipment.

    Key specs: Shaft size: 1-3/8″ single spring seal • Seat: 2.000″ x 0.437″ cup • Rotary OD: 1.941″ • Working length: 1.125″

    Design & construction:
    Crimped rotary head (Type N-11)—similar to industry Type C / 21; can also replace Type D / 2 with a simple spring change (in most cases). Electro-polished 304 stainless steel metal parts. Elastomeric bellows. Non-directional (independent of shaft rotation).

    Same seal, same dimensions — only the seal faces and rubber parts change. Most clean-water pumps take the Standard seal. Step up to an Upgrade if your pump runs hot, handles chemicals, or pumps gritty water.

    Seal Material Max Temp Choose This If
    Standard – Carbon/Ceramic/NitrileCAR/CER/NIT 200°F Clean water at neutral pH — HVAC, water transfer, pool and general-service pumps. This is the standard build.
    Upgrade – Carbon/Ceramic/VitonCAR/CER/VIT 450°F Your pump runs hot, or handles glycol, oils, fuels, bleach or other chemicals that break down standard Nitrile.
    Upgrade – Silicon Carbide/VitonSIC/SIC/VIT 450°F Gritty or dirty water, wastewater and slurry, or any pump where seals keep wearing out early. Hardest faces we offer.
