Frequently asked questions
How long does identification take?
Most kits are identified and reported within 1–2 business days of arriving at our Delray Beach warehouse. Larger multi-kit shipments can take a little longer — we’ll give you a timeline as soon as your parts arrive.
What if you can’t identify my seal?
If we can’t identify it well enough to supply a replacement, you don’t pay the fee. We ship your parts back and tell you what we were able to determine.
Do I get my old seals and O-rings back?
Yes. Return shipping is included in the identification fee. If you order replacements from us, your originals ship back in the same box as the new parts. If you don’t order, we send them back on their own at no extra charge.
How does the purchase credit work?
Order your replacement parts from Seal House USA and the full identification fee comes off that order, on replacement orders of $75 or more. Quantity pricing and the credit stack, so a five-kit ID at $35 each returns the full $175.
Why would I pay when you identify seals from photos for free?
If a photo and the pump model get us there, we’ll identify it free over the phone — always. The mail-in service is for the ones a photo can’t solve: unmarked seals, worn stampings, loose O-rings with no packaging, and mystery kits that need measuring and material verification in hand.
Can I send just O-rings, without the seal?
Absolutely. O-ring set identification is $25 on its own, and seal-only identification is also $25. The $50 rate is for a complete kit — the mechanical seal plus its O-rings identified together.
How should I package the parts?
Bag each seal and each O-ring set separately, and label them if you’re sending more than one kit. Include a note with your name, phone number, and the pump make and model if you know it. Don’t clean or scrape the parts — wear patterns and residue help us identify them.
