    An 8 inch full face gasket in 1/8 in. red rubber, cut to ASME B16.21 for 150 lb flanges. Pipe size is a name, not a measurement — 8 in. pipe is 8-5/8 in. across the outside, which is why the bore reads 8-5/8 in. and the outer edge 13-1/2 in.

    Measure across your flange face — if it reads 13-1/2 in., this is your gasket.

    • Fits pipe size — 8 in. nominal
    • Outside diameter — 13-1/2 in. (matches the flange face)
    • Bolt holes — 8, at 7/8 in.
    • Bolt circle — 11-3/4 in.
    • Bore — 8-5/8 in.
    • Thickness — 1/8 in.
    • Material — red rubber (SBR), 70 Shore A, -20°F to 180°F
    • Flange class — 150 lb steel or 125 lb cast iron

    Fits 150 lb steel and 125 lb cast iron flanges — Class 125 and Class 150 share the same bolt pattern, so one gasket covers both. A Class 300 flange is wider on a different bolt circle and takes a different gasket. Red rubber (SBR) suits water, brine, air and low-pressure service; for oil, fuel, solvents or acids ask for Buna, Viton, EPDM or non-asbestos.

    Where an 8 in. goes. Large pump volutes, municipal water and wastewater mains, fire risers and chilled-water headers in bigger buildings. It is the last size in the range with eight bolts — the 10 in. and 12 in. step up to twelve, so if you are counting twelve holes on your flange you are above an 8 in.

    Flanging up a whole pump?The suction flange is normally a size or two bigger than the discharge, so an 8in rarely goes in on its own.
