Mechanical Seal 3890 — Type 166 / T-16 | PS-3890

Equal to industry standard 3890 / PS-3890 / 200CSP.
Direct-fit crimped Type 166 / T-16 single-spring seal for pool/spa and small-pump applications—built for reliable everyday service.

At-a-glance specs:
5/8″ shaft • Cup seat: 1.381″ / 1.375″ × 0.406″ • Carbon/Ceramic faces • Nitrile elastomers

Fits: Hayward TriStar®, EcoStar® and NorthStar® (SPX3200SA, SPX4000), Jandy, and Polaris PB4-60Q and PB4-60 booster pumps made from late 2011 on (P84-3, R0479400). Polaris PB4-60 pumps made before late 2011 take the PS-1000.

Same seal, same size, same fit — what changes is the material and how it’s built. Both seals below are the PS-3890 for a 5/8″ shaft, and both fit the same pumps. They differ in two ways. The build: a molded carbon face or a premium carbon face machined from solid stock. The rubber: Nitrile or Viton. Pick the one that suits your water.
