    Berkeley S19310 Shaft Sleeve — Slip-Fit (19310)

    The Berkeley S19310 shaft sleeve is a stainless steel slip-fit sleeve for 1-1/4″ Berkeley Type B pumps, equivalent to Berkeley part numbers S19310 and S19310L. It carries the wear at the seal face so the pump shaft doesn’t — a $30 sleeve replaces what would otherwise be a shaft replacement or a scrapped rotating assembly.

    A chamfered lead-in eases installation without rolling the seal elastomer, and a machined groove in the outer diameter seats the S11207 external retaining ring for positive axial location.

    A worn sleeve is the most common reason a new mechanical seal fails early. If the old sleeve has a visible track where the seal faces rode, replace it — new faces running on a grooved sleeve will weep within hours.

    •  PS-185 Mechanical Seal — replaces Berkeley S32014. 1-1/4″ shaft, 1.875″ × 0.437″ seat, Type N-11 (Type C/21). Nitrile, Viton, and SiC/SiC options.
    •  Berkeley S04757 Volute Gasket — the case gasket that comes off with the wet end. Single-use; a compressed fiber gasket won’t re-seal.

    Installing the seal? A drop of P-80 rubber lubricant lets the elastomer slide over the chamfer instead of rolling or nicking.
