How to read Ebara D-Series model numbers (for seal sizing)
Example model: 150 DLFU 6304
1) Discharge size (first number group)
150
= discharge size.
Common sizes:
-
50 mm (2″) | 80 mm (3″) | 100 mm (4″) | 150 mm (6″) | 200 mm (8″) | 250 mm (10″) | 300 mm (12″)
2) Model letters (middle group)
DLFU
= the specific D-Series model.
In the U.S., D-Series models usually start with “D” and often end with “U” (U = U.S. version). You’ll frequently see L, M, and/or F within the code.
Examples seen in the field: DLFM, DLK, DLMFM, DVF, DBF, DLKWF, DL, DDLF (water jacket), DLFU, DLCMKFU, DLCMFU, and more.
3) Four-digit performance code (last group)
6304
helps select the correct mechanical seal and O-ring kit.
-
Position 1: Frequency (e.g., 6 = 60 Hz)
-
Positions 2–3: kW rating (drives seal/O-ring sizing; kW corresponds to HP on U.S. nameplates)
-
Position 4: Voltage code
-
2 = 208/230 V
-
4 = 460 V (sometimes shown as 450 V in docs)
-
*5 = 575 V
-
kW = HP quick reference (positions 2–3)
-
1.5 kW = 2 HP
-
2.2 kW = 3 HP
-
3.7 kW = 5 HP
-
5.5 kW = 7.5 HP
-
7.5 kW = 10 HP
-
11 kW = 15 HP
-
15 kW = 20 HP
-
18 kW = 25 HP
-
22 kW = 30 HP
-
30 kW = 40 HP
-
37 kW = 50 HP
-
45 kW = 60 HP
Why this matters
The kW digits (positions 2–3) and the voltage code (position 4) are key to matching the correct mechanical seal set and O-ring kit for your exact pump build.
Quick tip:
