Stokes Mechanical Shaft Seal — Models 148, 149-20, 212J

Aftermarket replacement mechanical shaft seals for popular Stokes rotary piston / vacuum pump models. Each seal is engineered to match the critical dimensions of the original Stokes assembly for reliable sealing performance in demanding vacuum service.

Stokes Model 148 

• 33.3 mm shaft size

• 57 mm seat diameter

• Carbon face/stainless

• BUNA (NBR) elastomers for general-purpose oil service

Stokes Model 149-20 

• 1-1/4″ shaft size

• 2.000″ seat bore

• Full rubber bellows rotary design, similar to the OEM style

• Aftermarket construction with slightly different build than the original Stokes seal

• Installation note: We recommend installing a flat washer (up to 1/8″ thick) behind the rotary to optimize working length and compression.

Stokes Model 212J 

• 46 mm shaft size “special” variant

• Carbon face/stainless

• Viton (FKM) elastomers for higher-temperature and chemical-resistant service

• Aftermarket design supplied with dual wave-type springs

• Installation note: For a softer compression and set length closer to the OEM seal, either remove one spring or stack both wave springs together for softer compression set length more similar to OEM seal
