    The 4240c mechanical seal is a direct-fit 5/8″ shaft seal, the PS-4240 equivalent, cross-referenced to Goulds 10K10. It is built to OEM-equivalent standards or higher with a Type 166 footprint and a machined carbon face for longer service life.

    Machined Carbon Face 
    Our 4240c uses a precision-machined, resin-impregnated carbon face — not the molded plastic/phenolic carbon found in standard equivalents — for smoother sealing and longer life. For the standard molded carbon version, see our 680c seal.

    The 10K64 seal assembly is the OEM-specified mechanical seal option for Goulds 3656/3756 S-Group pumps, commonly used for water supply, recirculation, and cooling applications. Please note our seal is 304SS, OEM specification call for 314SS for 10k64 (refer to note below)

    *** Build note: Our 10K64 seal is manufactured with electro-polished 304 stainless steel for the spring and other metal components. Some Goulds documentation lists 316 stainless steel for these metal parts. For most standard water/HVAC services, this 304SS build performs reliably; if your application involves aggressive chemicals, or severe corrosion conditions, contact us and we can quote a 316SS option when available.
