An Amarex KRT sits in a wet well moving raw sewage and stormwater, so the liquid crossing the faces carries grit and rag continuously, and the pump runs unattended for long stretches between services. Two hard faces resist that abrasion, run cooler under marginal lubrication, and tolerate the brief dry-running that comes with a falling wet well. The Viton (FKM) elastomers hold up against the heat and the fats, oils and treatment chemistry that come with the same work.
