Available Versions:

• Standard kit — Both seal seats supplied in the same design.

• Slurry kit — Lower seat is square-cut for housings that use an O-ring in the seat bore (the separate lower seat shown in images is included in the kit).

• Standard kit with Stainless Steel Housing — Lower seal set is supplied with new stainless steel housing- replaces plastic or bronze OEM housing (the separate housing shown in images is included in the full kit).

      With Griploc Seal (optional upgrade):

• Standard kit with Griploc — Standard kit configured with Griploc  seals.

• Slurry kit with Griploc — Slurry kit configured with Griploc seals.

Griploc upgrade (optional)

Upgrade options are available for each version: Standard with Griploc, Slurry with Griploc, or Standard kit with Stainless Steel Housing & Griploc. Griploc (also searched as GripLoc) is a pre-set mechanical face seal design intended to speed installation and deliver more consistent installs—secured without set screws to help reduce shaft damage risk.

Griploc is Flygt/Xylem’s pre-set mechanical face seal for submersible pumps. It’s built for long, trouble-free operation with robust, clog-resistant construction, seal faces that maintain flatness for excellent leakage prevention, and a patented Griploc™ locking system that secures the seal to the shaft without set screws or shaft damage. Installation is straightforward—one mounting procedure across sizes, no special service tools needed—just a standard screwdriver and the mounting tool included with each seal. The Griploc seals use the latest all-metal design with a torque-setting screw on the cartridge (for setting the seal, not a shaft set screw). Traditional versions used a plastic shell with a large snap ring.’

Should I choose traditional or Griploc seals?

Traditional (separate-component) seals

• Familiar, proven format; lower component cost.

• Good choice when you already have the tools/experience and want the lowest initial price.

• Best for: routine rebuilds with experienced technicians and standard wastewater duty.

Griploc seals

• Pre-set working length: no shimming/measuring- faster, more consistent installs.

• Tooling: no special tools required—just a screwdriver and the included mounting tool.

• Service profile: excellent leakage control; robust against heat, wear, and clogging.

• Best for: minimizing downtime, mixed-skill crews, abrasive/variable conditions, or when you want the most repeatable outcome.

• Prioritize speed, installation ease and consistency- Choose Griploc.

• Prioritize lowest upfront cost and you’re comfortable setting working length- Choose Traditional.
