The Flygt 2090 and 2140 are submersible dewatering pumps from Flygt’s BIBO line, built to clear water out of places that flood — construction excavations and building yards, tunnels and shafts, quarries, cofferdams, and flooded basements and plant rooms. The BS 2140 is a 19 HP, 3-inch, two-stage high-head unit running at 3480 rpm on an open impeller, sized for lifting water a long way up out of a deep hole rather than moving huge volume a short distance. Both pumps sit on a bottom strainer and run in gritty, silt-laden construction water, which is what wears the seals: abrasive particles work the lower face while continuous running hours load the upper. These pumps get rebuilt on a schedule rather than on failure, and this kit replaces both mechanical seals and the full O-ring set so a scheduled rebuild puts the pump back to leak-free service in one pass.

The Flygt BIBO BS 2125 is an 8.0 kW submersible dewatering pump running at 2800 rpm, built to clear water out of places that flood — building yards and construction excavations, tunnels and shafts, quarries, cofferdams, and flooded basements and plant rooms. BIBO is Flygt’s dewatering line, and the 2125 is the mid-size workhorse in it: discharge from 3 inch to 6 inch, and a high chrome alloyed white cast iron impeller built to survive the sand, silt and grit that comes with pumping construction water, with a stainless steel impeller available for corrosive duty. That abrasive service is what kills seals — grit works the lower face while continuous running hours load the upper — which is why these pumps are rebuilt on a schedule rather than on failure. The CP version runs a channel impeller in high-head duty; the DP and DF versions use a vortex hydraulic, which lets rag, fibre and solids pass straight through the volute instead of catching on the vane — the reason the 3045 turns up in septic, effluent and dirty-water service where a closed impeller would block. The impeller is polyamide PA66 on a stainless steel shaft, which keeps the pump light and corrosion-resistant but means the mechanical seals are what wear. Griploc — what it is
Griploc (also searched as GripLoc) is Flygt/Xylem’s pre-set mechanical face seal for submersible pumps. The seal faces hold flatness for excellent leakage control, and a patented Griploc™ locking system secures the seal to the shaft without set screws, removing the risk of shaft damage. Installation uses one procedure across sizes with no special service tools — a standard screwdriver and the mounting tool included with each seal. Current Griploc seals use an all-metal design with a torque-setting screw on the cartridge, for setting the seal rather than gripping the shaft; earlier versions used a plastic shell with a large snap ring.
Traditional or Griploc?
Traditional separate-component seals — familiar, proven format at a lower component cost. The right choice when you have the tools and experience and want the lowest initial price. Best for routine rebuilds with experienced technicians in standard wastewater duty.
Griploc seals — pre-set working length, so no shimming or measuring, which makes installs faster and more consistent. No special tools needed. Excellent leakage control and robust against heat, wear and clogging. Best for minimising downtime, mixed-skill crews, abrasive or variable conditions, or whenever you want the most repeatable outcome.
Quick pick: prioritize installation speed and consistency, choose Griploc. Prioritize lowest upfront cost and you’re comfortable setting working length, choose Traditional.

The Flygt 3102 is a compact submersible pump built in five hydraulic families on a single frame, from 2.4 kW to 4.5 kW, and this Flygt 3102 repair kit covers all of them. As a submersible sewage pump the C-pump version drives municipal and industrial wastewater through lift stations, pumping stations and treatment plants on a channel impeller. The D-pump swaps to a vortex hydraulic that lets rag, fibre and solids pass through the volute untouched, which suits septic haulage, pump-out pits and dirty-water transfer. The F-pump is a chopper pump, its S-shaped cutting impeller shredding stringy solids and wipes before they reach the impeller eye — the standard answer to a station that keeps ragging up. The M-pump, sold as the M3102 grinder pump, carries a grinder device that macerates solids for pressure-sewer mains and low-flow force mains where a small-bore discharge would otherwise block. The N-pump uses Flygt’s self-cleaning Adaptive N impeller, available in cast iron, Hard-Iron™ for abrasive grit and stainless steel for corrosive service, with premium-efficiency IE3 versions on a line-started permanent magnet motor. Whichever version you run, the seals and O-rings wear the same way — and this kit rebuilds them.

Installation uses one procedure across sizes with no special service tools — a standard screwdriver and the mounting tool included with each seal. Current Griploc seals use an all-metal design with a torque-setting screw on the cartridge, for setting the seal rather than gripping the shaft; earlier versions used a plastic shell with a large snap ring.
Traditional or Griploc?
Traditional separate-component seals — familiar, proven format at a lower component cost. The right choice when you have the tools and experience and want the lowest initial price. Best for routine rebuilds with experienced technicians in standard wastewater duty.
Griploc seals — pre-set working length, so no shimming or measuring, which makes installs faster and more consistent. No special tools needed. Excellent leakage control and robust against heat, wear and clogging. Best for minimising downtime, mixed-skill crews, abrasive or variable conditions, or whenever you want the most repeatable outcome.
Quick pick: prioritize installation speed and consistency, choose Griploc. Prioritize lowest upfront cost and you’re comfortable setting working length, choose Traditional.
